Another funny concept. Because outside of the civilization of humanity, time is measured by days and the seasons. Do you think a doe has the ability to notice that she has been grazing in the same field for hours? Do you think that bird knows what time he/she goes to sleep? The answer is no. Because animals don’t really have the concept of time, or really care for it, because they rely on instinct or routines to survive.
For example: If you know you feed your dog at 5 pm every night, your dog will learn around the time of day when it usually gets fed. Your dog may ask for its food 1 hour before 5 pm, because it doesn’t actually know about the time you fed it. It just knows that they’re hungry and this is usually when it gets food.
Time is a concept that man created to make living more organizable and to catalogue the events of the past, present, and future.
So why does this little concept stress us out so much?
Well it may be because of the lack of time management, and not feeling like you would have enough time to get everything done in your daily life.
Not having the ability to slow down and relax is a big factor of this. Many people that live in high densely populated areas will feel the symptoms of stress more than people in the country, for the main reason being that is because of the amount of people living in that city, there will always be people moving, doing stuff, and cities always grow. So sometimes people feel like their heads are spinning off their bodies. I know when I moved to the city, I had a hard time adjusting to the lifestyle.
How can you get better at time management and not getting stressed?
You can do a multitude of things to release stress, exercise is one of them, yoga, sex, sitting down and doing something you love. Also taking up a hobby will help you not get stressed as much.
For time management, at least for me, it helps to write things down on a calendar or notebook, and then checking it off once it is done. It feels good to be able to check off small things. If you start scheduling in things you’ll realize you have more time in your day than you originally thought. Also if you start hobbies or forms of exercise those allow you to put leisure time into your day. Getting a daily planner and planning your week is also a good way of managing your time, even if you only know the big stuff like when you work, put that time in, then fill your book up with the rest as you go through your week. Also you’ll look hella organized.
