Try Something New

Everybody knows someone that knows everything about a subject that they can't seem to stop talking about. Because they love it and believe that you should either look into it or try it out. Most people these days are afraid to try something new or risky, but what nobody realizes is that when you do try something new it gives you a new character trait. You will notice when you begin branching out and try new things, you notice more things about your surroundings. In high school I was a gym rat and also secretly a nerd. I loved fictional worlds with wizards, faeries and fauna creatures. This expanded my imagination and allowed me to try something new. I loved playing video games and board games, so I decided to mix my love for all and try table top games like the famous Dungeons and Dragons. Now I'm not going to try to convince you to play this game, but I will quickly mention, that if you have a wild imagination, and love all the before mentioned subjects you should really give it a try. It is amazing what you can come up with, and not to mention you and your friends get to explore these magical lands with you. Nerd or not, many players I have known in the past have wide character traits, which allow them to switch on and off. Once I discovered the game and have played it for a couple years, I began to notice myself changing in mentality, which matched certain characters I have created. I began to have fun in thereal world and look at things differently. "That building looks really easy to climb, maybe I should train to try to do that one day." Or "I want to build something like a wand or staff so I can cosplay or dress up for fun and use my creativity."

Before you close this book and throw it across the room and think I am filled with bogus, take a moment to humour me. Try to think of your ideal character trait, and what it would be like to think that there is magic in the world we live in.

Here is a fun anecdote to think about. Agree or disagree, our world is filled with magic already. It is hard to spot sometimes and most are too stuck in their own minds to be able to see it. But just think, there are things scientists have a hard time to look and find, and even after they figure it out, that thing had to come from somewhere. Now I am not religious per-say, but I do believe in life, spirituality, and how things happen for a reason, in my mind also magic. Just think, there will always be a new day, that new day will never be the same as the last, we don't have time travel only documentation to remind us that it happened. As things grow they twist and turn, reach out to things next to it, shake hands with the wind and breath. The sun will always great us in the morning with a beautiful glow, and wave goodbye, even if we don't see it, it will always happen somewhere. Right now somewhere there is a miracle happening, a baby being grown or born. If you are thinking about how trying something new is not as scary as you my have thought you would be right, new things happen everyday, magical or natural. It is just up to you to believe in that change. It is just as easy as opening a door and walking through.
