The word to escape can have many meanings. Similar words could be breakout, departure, beat, rescue, freedom, flight. But I am not talking about those kinds of escape, except maybe freedom.
I am talking about the kind of escape that everyone needs to have every once and a while. A from of freedom, but on a more personal level. A way to slip away into a mind frame or space you wouldn’t have the chance to be in in your normal life.
I am talking about those trips you take with your loved one, alone, or with your family. Those trips that allow you to escape your daily life style, allowing you to seek something extraordinary.
Something that will let that smile escape your mouth, hear that laugh you never thought you had, or that breath of relief that frees your chest from all bounds.
I’ve experienced a time in my life where it all seemed so meaningless and I was stuck in a slump that was very hard to get out of. I had to ask myself what the meaning of it was to me. But I was seeking the meaning of life in the wrong way, because I was looking at it from the wrong angle.
Life itself doesn’t inherently have a meaning, it’s not black and white. The meaning of life is simply put like this.
Life is meaningful because we put meaning into it, not because it has meaning to begin with.
Ever hear the saying “When one door closes, another one opens.”? It exists for a reason, because we have a very interesting way of living. Luck or opportunity hits us like a hardcover book, and it’s up to us to pick it up and open it. Like the door, we are given the key. We just need to unlock it, open it, and walk through. A form of escape, we just need to take the initiative.
Some people are afraid of this. Because it’s change. It’s scary, the unknown is scary. But sometimes. Sometimes, that jump into the deep end is what you need to get onto your feet again, and when you climb that mountain you will breath the fresh air and realize, life is worth living, and escape is one way of working with it.
